Make Money or Build Wealth

An interactive, side-by-side tool that contrasts short-term “making money” (trading, F&O, forex) with long-term “building wealth” (SIP, lumpsum, STP, SWP) — so you can see, not just read, why patient investing usually wins.

How to use it

  1. 1 Open the tool and look at the two panels: ⚡ Make Money on the left, 🌱 Build Wealth on the right.
  2. 2 On the left, pick a trading scenario and amount to see how volatile short-term outcomes can be.
  3. 3 On the right, enter an amount, return and time to see steady, compounded growth.
  4. 4 Scroll to the comparison chart and “what’s different” table to see both paths side by side.

How to read the result

The verdict panel and comparison chart show the long-run gap between chasing returns and compounding. Use it to set expectations — not as a prediction of any specific outcome.

SIP Calculator

Estimates what a fixed monthly mutual-fund investment (a SIP) could grow to over time.

How to use it

  1. 1 Set your monthly investment with the slider (or type an exact amount).
  2. 2 Choose an expected annual return (try a few — e.g. 10%, 12%, 14%).
  3. 3 Set the time period in years.

How to read the result

You’ll see the estimated future value, split into what you invested and the estimated gains. The bar shows the proportion of growth. Enter your name to download a branded PDF report.

Lumpsum Calculator

Shows how a one-time (lumpsum) investment could grow with compounding.

How to use it

  1. 1 Enter the amount you’re investing once.
  2. 2 Pick the expected annual return.
  3. 3 Set how many years you’ll stay invested.

How to read the result

The result shows your invested amount vs the estimated final value and gains. Compare it against a SIP using the SIP vs Lumpsum guide.

Step-up SIP Calculator

Like the SIP calculator, but your monthly amount rises by a set percentage every year — as your income grows.

How to use it

  1. 1 Set your starting monthly investment.
  2. 2 Choose the annual step-up (e.g. 10% means you invest 10% more each year).
  3. 3 Set the expected return and the number of years.

How to read the result

Along with the future value, it shows your final-year monthly amount and how much extra the step-up adds versus a flat SIP.

SWP Calculator

A Systematic Withdrawal Plan calculator — estimates how regular withdrawals draw down an invested corpus, and how long it may last.

How to use it

  1. 1 Enter your invested corpus.
  2. 2 Set the amount you want to withdraw regularly.
  3. 3 Choose an expected return and the period.

How to read the result

See how your withdrawals and remaining balance change over time. Useful for planning a retirement income stream.

Retirement Calculator

Estimates the corpus you’ll need by retirement, and the monthly SIP from today to build it — adjusted for inflation.

How to use it

  1. 1 Set your current age, planned retirement age and life expectancy.
  2. 2 Enter your current monthly expenses.
  3. 3 Adjust inflation, and your expected return before and during retirement.

How to read the result

You’ll get your monthly expense at retirement, the corpus needed, and the monthly SIP to reach it. It’s a simplified planning guide — it ignores taxes and existing savings like PF.

Compare Mutual Funds

Puts up to three mutual funds side by side using live AMFI data — returns, NAV and category.

How to use it

  1. 1 Search for a fund and add it.
  2. 2 Add up to two more funds to compare.
  3. 3 Scan the columns for 1M–5Y returns, NAV and category.

How to read the result

Compare like-for-like over the same period and against the category — not just the headline number. Past performance doesn’t predict the future.

Financial Planner

Builds a personalised plan across your real goals — family, education, marriage, retirement and more.

How to use it

  1. 1 Define your goals and when you need the money.
  2. 2 Enter the amounts and your current savings.
  3. 3 Review the suggested plan and download it.

How to read the result

See what each goal needs and how to work towards it. For a tailored plan, you can leave your details and Baasava Hathiwala will reach out.
